Container Grown Evergreen Hedging and Conifers

Mill Farm Trees supplies high-quality Cell grown, Container grown and Rootballed Evergreen Hedging and Conifers.

Container grown hedging offers flexibility, allowing you to plant hedges at any time of the year, rather than being restricted to the winter months as with bare-root plants. This means you can start creating your ideal hedge whenever you’re ready. Our Rootballed plants are the perfect choice when you’re seeking larger specimens for instant impact. Rootballed plants are supplied from November to April and come wrapped in biodegradable sacking, which is left on for planting, helping the plants’ protection during transportation and giving them the best start in their new home.

In addition to their versatility, Rootballed hedging plants have a reputation for their reliable establishment rate.

What Is Evergreen Hedging?

Evergreen hedging refers to a type of hedge composed of plants that retain their leaves throughout the entire year, maintaining green foliage even in winter. Unlike deciduous hedges that shed their leaves in the autumn, evergreen hedges provide constant coverage and privacy, acting as a year-round barrier or screen. They offer a consistent backdrop of greenery and are popular for creating visually appealing boundaries in gardens, landscapes, and outdoor spaces.

Common plant species used for evergreen hedging include Box, Evergreen Privet, Yew, Holly, Laurel, and conifers like Thuja, Scots Pine and Norway Spruce. Evergreen hedges are highly sought after for their low maintenance requirements and ability to retain their vibrant colour and dense foliage. They provide not only privacy but also serve as windbreaks and noise barriers.

What Are Conifers?

Conifers are a group of cone-bearing, woody plants that belong to the division Pinophyta within the plant kingdom. They are characterised by their needle-like or scale-like leaves and the production of cones, which house their seeds. Conifers are among the most diverse and widespread plant groups, with a wide range of species inhabiting various ecosystems across the globe.
